Translated by Jodas 5: The Magic BattleCore Characters
Tia Vogel / Folulutia
A Harpy whose wings were stolen and who disguised as a human to learn flight magic.
Flies with the help of Oliver and the Magical Flying Device, and can utilize the Magical Leaping Device to make quick maneuvers.
Wren Bayer
Assistant Representative for the Apprentice Mages. A brainy pretty boy.
In addition to learning inscription magic, laid plans for the magic battle and manipulated information, playing a huge role in the background.
He has a tendency to freeze up when made the leader, so the support position of Assistant Representative is perfect for him.
Adelheid Sevil Lamea Krewing
Her Highness, the Emperor’s sister. The ‘Barbarian Sword Princess’ who uses a curved sword.
Has learned how to use an ice magic sword by imbuing a supportive magical device into her curved sword.
Outrageously strong in cavalry battles, and did a fantastic job riding Agniol in lion form.
Took the Responsibility of assessing the terrain and battle progress, then leading her teammates accordingly in the magic battle.
Smoke Fox / Caspar Hütter (Fake)
A third-rate conman who infiltrated the Wedge Tower on the orders of the Black Lion Emperor.
While watching the magic battle, assessed the important figures of the Wedge Tower, seriously considering what party tricks would appeal to each of them.
Spiremaster Lowein looks receptive to dirty jokes, and he predicts Spiremaster Alto would enjoy his impersonations.
Apprentice Mages
Röhm’s Class *Class taught by a genius woman who uses both Modern and Classical Magecraft.
Roswitha Ohlendorf
A Classical mage with a pointy hat. Controls fish made of water.
Her water fish have high potency and she can control them with excellent precision.
However, as their power diminishes with the distance from the caster, they are not suited for long-range attacks.
Ella Frank
Representative of the Apprentices, a glasses-wearing honor student. Bad at emitting mana.
Played an important role in preparing the guiding formula with inscription magic, but has yet to give up on her dream of using chanted magic.
Thinking hard about ways to turn her knowledge into action.
Gracefully mediates between the Apprentices’ strong personalities.
Sophie Schwarzenberg
Hails from a famous family of Shamans.
Has five curses embedded in her body, but can only use curses that kill painfully.
Played a very minor role in the magic battle, but her passionate teammates are starting to rub off on her.
Sombart’s Class Class focused on Modern Magecraft that prioritizes practicality.
Julius Löwenich
Son of Samuel Löwenich, a prominent mage. Has poor physicality.
Is skilled at using magecraft that divides to increase the number of projectiles, as well as long range and remote magic.
His precision is inferior to Roswitha’s, but he has her beat in casting speed and range.
Flame Spirit Agniol
Julius’ contracted spirit. Was previously contracted to Samuel Löwenich.
Very personable, she doesn’t mind letting people ride on her back and running around.
Long ago, when she tried running with Julius on her back, she failed to notice him falling off within three seconds and continued running far into the distance.
John Rose
Red haired, fuzzy, and muscular.
Was responsible for defensive barriers in this magic battle. Now has much better respect for how difficult it is to activate a barrier with just the right timing to block the enemy’s attack in time without interfering with his allies’ attacks.
Even though someone had told him countless times before just how difficult it was to use defensive barriers in an actual battle.
Oliver Lange
Member of the Lange Family of Monster hunters. The spiky-haired ‘Red Rain.’
He has little talent for magecraft or battles, but aside from that, he’s a model student.
This time he specialized in flying with Tia and tossing inscription magic, but is still on the search for a fighting style he can achieve by himself.
Armster’s Class Class that focuses on imbuement magic and the creation of magical devices.
Rukiye Sorge
Stubborn girl with the eye of an artisan.
Worked hard to make the carrying strap, the tubes to protect inscription magic (both wooden and metal variants) and the drawing boards (including Gerald’s special one), as well as tuning up the Magical Flying Device and the Magical Leaping Device. Plus, during the magic battle, she stuffed the inscription magic tubes, distributed tools, and set up the ropes. She was by far the busiest worker in the whole operation.
Finn Nohl
Out of the Apprentice Mages, he and Sophie are the youngest. Has weak legs and drags his feet as he walks.
He’s lame and clumsy, but always prioritizes doing whatever he can to be useful to the others.
Finn is unaware that his dedication, being the youngest of the group, is what gave his older teammates the motivation to fight on.
Gerald Anker
A boy with long bangs. Roommates with Wren.
Hates fighting. Has tons of things he doesn’t want to do, but is still searching aimlessly for something he does want to do.
Regardless, he decided to fight in order to run away from those things he doesn’t want to do the most, taking one step towards growth.

Mages of the First Spire: White Smoke
Melchior John Hegelich
Director of the Guidance Office. A blond-haired bowl-cut glasses-wearing middle-aged man.
Since he’s a Modern Magecraft user, has a weak standing in the First Spire, where most of the higher ranks are dominated by the Classical School.
Is greatly satisfied with the hard work of his Apprentices this time. He gave harsh criticisms at the review session, but he made sure to balance it out with wholesome praise.

Is there a reason he kept fidgeting the whole time he was watching the magic battle…?
Mages of the Second Spire: Golden Needle
Frederik Lange
Member of the Extermination Office. Mr. Smiley who excels at flight magic.
Always hated fighting. He honed his skills at flight magic in order to flee from enemy attacks.
First learned the joy of flying to compete against someone else through his magic battle with Tia. Has acknowledged Tia as his rival.
Helena
Member of the Extermination Office. Frederik’s classmate. User of water magic.
Known as Saint Helena, she’s the wielder of the Ancient Magical Artifact ‘Eurydice, the Cackling Foam.’
Manipulates a large volume of bubbles that envelop anything coated in mana then explode. When she fights against a horde of Monsters, the bubbles start a chain reaction leaving a trail of stunning destruction in their wake.
Rikard Oks
Member of the Extermination Office. Frederik’s classmate. Wields an axe.
A user of earth-attribute magic. He can create walls of earth.
He uses these walls of earth to intercept charging enemies, to pop Helena’s bubbles, and many other applications, but he’s strongest when he’s just swinging his axe.
Dammer
Member of the Extermination Office. A man with a huge X-shaped scar on his face. Wields a whip.
